Limited Capacity seats available

Interested in creating a new plant to share with the world? Collaboration is key as all great breeding has been built out of the natural and artificial evolution we have observed and participated in for thousands of years. Cornell Professor and Plant Breeder Michael Mazourek and Stone Barns Center Farmer Jason Grauer will share some of the successes and failures of their collaborative efforts and how they have created new veggies in a step-by-step process that you can use on your farm to create signature cultivars. These case studies will highlight the process, size, field layout, timing, and considerations we employ. Through conversation, physical displays and projected photos Michael and Jason will help you understand the depth of plant breeding that stretches from the research fields to the vegetable fields. Participants can attend just one of the two sessions; however, please note that the second session will build upon concepts in the first.
