In this panel, three farmers will delve into the nuances of grassfed grazing, discussing methods, viewpoints, and financials. Matt Rales of Turtle Island Ag raises grass-finished beef in Northern VirginiaRidge Shinn runs a grassfed beef production in Massachussetts, co-founded Hardwick Beef, and develops markets and distribution systems for 100% grass-fed beef throughout the northeast. Jessica Gigot of Harmony Fields in Washington State raises grassfed sheep for roving, meat and cheese, and educates the public on diversified resilient farming methods. Together these successful farmers will examine the benefits of grassfed grazing, including carbon sequestration and farmland rejuvenation, animal health, quality and nutrition of product, husbandry, financial return and quality of life for the farmer.
